FAQ's

1 – Why are we engaging in this massive project?
    The City is addressing the impact from major growth that citizens near
    Belle Terre Parkway north have experienced in previous years. By
    reconstructing and widening Belle Terre Parkway north to 4 lanes, traffic
    in both directions will finally flow more advantageously for residents,
    students, parents, teachers and athletes. Roads will be safer to drive.
    Walkers and bike riders will have designated spots along the roadway.
    Medians will display beautifully landscaped foliage.

2 – Will the road be detoured?
    NO. Vehicular and pedestrian traffic, as well as continuous access to    
    schools, churches, parks, businesses and residences will be maintained
    throughout the duration of construction.

        Dick Corporation’s field staff will be present onsite
        and accessible to the public during all construction hours.

4 – How long will this project really take to complete?
    It will take approximately two years for the construction company to
    complete this Belle Terre Parkway project.

5 – Will the road be constructed in specific phases?

    Yes, the road will be constructed in multiple phases in order to minimize
    traffic disruption. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction
    for the full duration of the project.

6 – Will drivers on Matanzas Woods Parkway be affected during the project?
    Yes. Generally, Matanzas Woods Parkway will be widened 12 feet to the
    south for approximately 1800 feet to provide an eastbound and a
    westbound left turn lane at the new intersection of Lakview Blvd and
    Belle Terre Pkwy. One, 11-foot lane of traffic in each direction will be
    maintained.

7 – What are the daily hours for construction?r>     Will construction be continuing during evening hours or on weekends?

    The normal working hours for construction are 7:00am to 6:00pm,    
    excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. There may be some time
    throughout the project which would be prudent to work outside of these
    normal hours, however specific approval will need to be granted by the
    City.

8 – Will entrances/exits to schools, churches and the Sports Complex be affected?
    Access to the schools, churches and the Sports Complex will be
    maintained throughout construction.

9 – Will trash pick-up be affected in any way?
    No, construction will not affect track pick up in any way.

10 – Will emergency services be affected?
    No. Fire, Police, & EMS as well as the public, will have continuous access
    in each direction for the duration of construction.

11 – Will there be any utility outages during construction?
    Yes. It may be required to temporarily interrupt a utility service during
    construction. The public will be notified in advance with as much notice as
    possible of any and all anticipated utility interruptions.

12 – How do I learn about more about the project or get updates as to the progress of the project?
    The project website www.btp4l.com will be continuously updated to
    reflect construction progress photos, schedule, traffic alerts and updates,
    project news, as well as other related project documents. In addition to
    the website, a project hotline (386-845-9303) has been setup for
    citizens to ask questions, state their concerns or give overall feedback. A
    member of the Dick Corporation management team will respond to all
    hotline calls.

13 – Will pedestrian traffic be maintained?
    Yes. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained using the existing sidewalk, the 
    new sidewalk or a temporary side walk.

14 – Who is involved in the Project?
    The City of Palm Coast is the Owner.
    Halifax Paving is the General Contractor.
    Dick Corporation is the Construction Manager.
    CPH Engineers is the Designer.


15 - Will there be a traffic signal at the new intersection of Belle Terre / Matanzas / Lakeview?

   Yes, a traffic signal will be installed at the new intersection.


16 - Will there be street lighting along Belle Terre at the completion of the project?

   Yes, Belle Terre will be illuminated with street lighting.
